Background & History

Mr. Nelson is co-founder of Unifyhealth.com an interactive healthcare marketing company. Mr. Nelson most recently served as the corporate manager of consumer technology for Meridian Health, a $1B/year NJ based family of hospitals and health care providers. Mr. Nelson managed strategic investments, joint ventures and business development for Meridian related to digital consumer health services in mobile, emerging consumer health electronics, telemedicine systems, patient monitoring tools, and PHR / EMR systems, and compliance related services throughout the Meridian family of health care facilities and affiliated 1300 local physician practices.

Mr. Nelson has over 10 years experience as a technology entrepreneur with businesses extending data and media to consumer electronics and mobile devices. Prior to joining Meridian, he founded and served as CEO of C.A.C. Media, which developed an embedded operating system and content delivery network licensed by consumer electronics and digital appliance companies in the US and Asia markets.

He also founded and was CEO of Astata Corporation an early leader in providing software and solutions extending enterprise applications to all major wireless data networks and devices with customers such as Research in Motion, GoAmerica, Sony, CitiGroup, Wit Capital, and Lehman Brothers. Nelson came from Smith Barney where he supervised purchasing, technology controls, and directed a team in developing and implementing an agreement with IBM to link Smith Barney and its customers on the Internet in the mid 90s.

Mr. Nelson serves on the advisory board of Omnifuse.com, an enterprise social networking company based in Newport Beach, California. Mr. Nelson holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
